Recognition of Student Excellence
A highlight of the meeting was the attendance of the Chamber’s Business Student of the Month, Gabriella DeAngelis of Center Moriches High School. The talented student was recognized for her academic achievements and outstanding community service activities. She was awarded a certificate from the Chamber, celebrating her commitment to both her studies and her contributions to the community. This recognition underscores the Chamber’s dedication to nurturing the next generation of leaders and reinforcing the importance of civic engagement.
Preparation for the March of the Goblins Event
One of the primary topics on the agenda was the preparation for the highly anticipated March of the Goblins event, scheduled for Halloween Day. This event promises a festive celebration for families in the Moriches area, trick or treating on Main Street. Members discussed logistics, including route planning, safety measures, and volunteer coordination to ensure a successful celebration that fosters community spirit.
Honoring Veterans: Upcoming Parade
As Veterans Day approaches, the Chamber is eager to honor those who have served in the military. Plans for the Veterans Day Parade were discussed, with an emphasis on participation from local veterans, schools, and civic organizations. Members brainstormed ways to increase community involvement in the parade and create a meaningful event that pays tribute to local heroes. The Chamber is encouraging all businesses and residents to come together to honor veterans and be part of this significant occasion. The parade will be held on November 10th at 2pm.
Support for Hurricane Victims
