Girl Scout Troop 1556 Makes Pinwheels for Peace

On Wednesday, September 19th, our local Girl Scout Troop 1556, led by Jennifer Glover, gathered at the sign welcoming people into Center Moriches. The troop is made up of young community members all around 11 years of age, and all standing up for a good cause – World Peace. The pinwheels you see were all hand designed by our lovely Girl Scouts and were admired by many local community members.

Help Celebrate the International Day of Peace

Pinwheels for Peace is a movement that comes to a head today, the International Day of Peace, September 21st. The idea behind it is that if everyone who wanted peace put out a pinwheel, or a few pinwheels, the message of peace would be visible all across the world. So, join us in this movement and put out some pinwheels of your own! Check out this link to learn more about the movement and download your own pinwheel template.
