St. Patrick’s Gala 2025 Honoring Grand Marshal, Mark Danowski!

On Friday, March 14th, Rock Hill Country Club echoed with laughter, music, and a vibrant celebration of Irish culture at this year’s Saint Patrick’s Gala. The event, which honored Grand Marshal Mark Danowski, was a resounding success, drawing a crowd eager to engage in the festivities.

The evening was alive with live music from Chain Reaction, whose live music kept attendees on their feet and filled the dance floor.

Guests were treated to a buffet dinner, showcasing a delightful array of culinary offerings that paid homage to traditional Irish cuisine. The ambiance was further enhanced by the spectacular performances of talented Irish step dancers, who captivated the audience with their skillful footwork and joyful spirit.

Adding to the evening’s charm was the event’s professional photographer from KCollections Photography, who skillfully captured the festivities, ensuring that memories from this wonderful evening would live on.

A Spooktacular Evening at the March of the Goblins!

On Halloween, the Chamber of Commerce of the Moriches transformed Main Street into a ghoulishly delightful wonderland for families to enjoy at our annual March of the Goblins. With the crisp fall air, perfect weather and the little goblins lining the street, it was the perfect setting for a successful community celebration.

Thanks to the generous involvement and support from our local businesses and the involvement of dedicated local politicians, we created a safe and fun trick-or-treating experience that brought together over a thousand eager goblins, witches, and superheroes. Children roamed the streets in search of candy, while parents enjoyed the festive atmosphere that highlighted the community spirit of Moriches.

From decorated storefronts to friendly faces handing out treats, Main Street in Center Moriches was with excitement. The event not only provided a safe environment for our young trick-or-treaters but also bolstered our Main Street businesses, fostering a sense of local pride and community connection.

We look forward to making the March of the Goblins an even bigger and better event next Halloween. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this year’s celebration a resounding success! Here’s to many more fun-filled Halloweens in Center Moriches!

October Membership Meeting

On October 8, 2024, the Chamber of Commerce of the Moriches held its monthly membership meeting, where community leaders and business owners gathered to discuss important initiatives and upcoming events. The meeting showcased a strong commitment to local engagement and support for various community causes.

Recognition of Student Excellence

A highlight of the meeting was the attendance of the Chamber’s Business Student of the Month, Gabriella DeAngelis of Center Moriches High School. The talented student was recognized for her academic achievements and outstanding community service activities. She was awarded a certificate from the Chamber, celebrating her commitment to both her studies and her contributions to the community. This recognition underscores the Chamber’s dedication to nurturing the next generation of leaders and reinforcing the importance of civic engagement.

Preparation for the March of the Goblins Event

One of the primary topics on the agenda was the preparation for the highly anticipated March of the Goblins event, scheduled for Halloween Day. This event promises a festive celebration for families in the Moriches area, trick or treating on Main Street. Members discussed logistics, including route planning, safety measures, and volunteer coordination to ensure a successful celebration that fosters community spirit.

Honoring Veterans: Upcoming Parade

As Veterans Day approaches, the Chamber is eager to honor those who have served in the military. Plans for the Veterans Day Parade were discussed, with an emphasis on participation from local veterans, schools, and civic organizations. Members brainstormed ways to increase community involvement in the parade and create a meaningful event that pays tribute to local heroes. The Chamber is encouraging all businesses and residents to come together to honor veterans and be part of this significant occasion. The parade will be held on November 10th at 2pm.

Support for Hurricane Victims

A heartwarming initiative led by Katie Goulding of AJ Sunflower Boutique was presented, aimed at assisting victims of recent hurricanes. Katie shared her vision for mobilizing the community to provide aid and support for those affected, highlighting her boutique’s commitment to shipping needed donations to the victims herself. The Chamber members rallied behind this cause, discussing ways to further amplify the message and encourage local businesses and residents to contribute.

Exciting New 5K Run for Charity

Additionally, Richard Flynn of Moriches Field Brewing Co introduced an exciting upcoming event—a 5K run that aims to foster community spirit and support worthy causes. Scheduled for January 2025, the run will benefit Camp Pa-qua-tuck and Helping Makes U Happy. Richard emphasized the importance of community participation in this event, noting that the proceeds will directly support programs that enrich the lives of local children and individuals facing challenges. The Chamber enthusiastically supported this initiative, encouraging members to engage and promote the run within their networks.

Stay tuned for more updates as these events draw nearer, and consider joining the efforts to make a difference in our community!
